The Smart Starter Kit is an Uno R3 compatible learning kit for students and beginners. It comes with a compatible Uno R3 board, an expansion shield, sensors, a 16x2 LCD, a servo and a stepper motor, so you can learn wiring and Arduino IDE programming on real hardware.

What you can build with this kit
- Car parking sensor: HC-SR04 measures distance, the buzzer beeps faster as you get closer.
- Room temperature display: DHT11 readings shown on the 16x2 LCD.
- IR remote switch: turn the relay or LEDs on and off from the remote.
- Automatic night light: the LDR switches an LED on when the room gets dark.
- Joystick traffic light: control red, yellow and green LEDs with the joystick module.
- Joystick-controlled servo: move the SG90 with the joystick.
- Rotating camera base: the 28BYJ-48 stepper turns slowly and precisely through the ULN2003 driver.
- Fire alarm: the flame sensor triggers the buzzer.
- Tamper alarm: the vibration sensor detects a knock on a door or box.
How to get started
Install the free Arduino IDE, connect the board with the USB cable, and follow the e-book tutorial. Project source code and schematics are provided, and you can also use the Anu Electronics Android app to get started.
Tip: for the DHT11, install a DHT sensor library from the Arduino IDE Library Manager before uploading the example code. Run the stepper motor through the ULN2003 board, never directly from the Arduino pins.

Frequently asked questions
Is the board an original Arduino?
No. It is an Uno R3 compatible board that works with the Arduino IDE and Arduino libraries. For an official board, choose the UNO EK R4 Minima kit.
What age is this kit suitable for?
School students can start with adult supervision. College students and adults can work through the projects on their own.
Are batteries included?
No. The IR remote needs a battery, which is not included. The board is powered over the USB cable.
