NRF24L01+PA+LNA 2.4 GHz Transceiver with SMA Antenna

The NRF24L01+PA+LNA is the long-range version of the NRF24L01 2.4 GHz transceiver. It adds a power amplifier (PA) for stronger transmission and a low-noise amplifier (LNA) for better reception, with an external antenna on an SMA connector. It uses the same 8-pin SPI interface and code as the standard NRF24L01.

Practical notes

The amplifier draws more current than the standard module, so the 3.3 V pin on an Arduino Uno is often not enough. Use the NRF24L01 adapter board or a separate 3.3 V regulator, and add a 10 µF capacitor across VCC and GND. Always keep the antenna attached while the module is powered. If two modules are very close together, set a lower power level in the RF24 library to avoid overloading the receiver.

Does it work with the same code as the standard NRF24L01?

Yes. The pinout and SPI commands are the same, and you can mix it with the PCB-antenna NRF24L01 in one network.

Why is my long-range module unreliable?

Almost always power. Give it a dedicated 3.3 V supply with a capacitor close to the module.
