CC2500 2.4 GHz RF Transceiver Module

The CC2500 module is a 2.4 GHz RF transceiver built on the Texas Instruments CC2500 chip, with an onboard PCB antenna and 26 MHz crystal. It connects to a microcontroller over SPI and suits low-power wireless links such as remote controls and sensor networks.

Practical notes

Run the module at 3.3 V. Its SPI pins are not rated for 5 V, so use a level shifter, or a 3.3 V board such as an ESP32 or STM32, when connecting to a 5 V Arduino. Lower data rates give better sensitivity and more range.

Frequently asked questions

CC2500 or NRF24L01?

Both work in the 2.4 GHz band. The NRF24L01 has higher data rates and more Arduino examples; the CC2500 offers finer control over frequency and modulation.
